Choosing a cat sitter in Boulder offers numerous physical, mental, and even spiritual benefits for you and your cat, making it a superior option to traditional boarding. Cats are highly territorial animals, and being transported to a kennel can cause them unnecessary stress, anxiety, and physical discomfort. With a professional cat sitter, your feline companion can stay in the comfort of their home, maintaining their familiar surroundings, routines, and scents. This minimizes the risk of behavioral issues and stress-related health problems that can arise from the upheaval of boarding.
Mentally, having a dedicated sitter ensures your cat receives personalized attention, mental stimulation through play, and affection tailored to their needs, reducing feelings of loneliness. For pet parents, the spiritual benefit of knowing your beloved cat is in caring hands provides unparalleled peace of mind. A cat sitter in Boulder can also address logistical challenges like the hassle of transporting your cat to and from a kennel, saving time and eliminating the struggle of coaxing a reluctant cat into a carrier. By offering reliable, compassionate care in your home, cat sitting ensures your pet stays happy, healthy, and relaxed while you’re away, leaving you both worry-free and connected.
At Ailurophile Cat Sitting and Home Care, our cat sitters in Boulder, our philosophy is simple: We know cats, which is our specialty! From awareness and knowledge of their illnesses and health concerns to recognizing their unique behaviors, we are the cat sitting experts of Boulder, Colorado. Oftentimes, while working with cat-sitting clients, we hear about their experience of hiring pet-sitting companies with sitters who were more dog-oriented and preferred dogs to cats, so they didn’t have a bond or natural interest and understanding of these animals. The cats were secondary to the dog care. At Ailurophile Cat Sitting and Home Care, we are the opposite and exclusively service only cats. Many clients tell us how excited they are to have found a cat sitting focused company in Boulder, Colorado.
Each cat sitting visit includes providing your cat with fresh food and water, litter box maintenance, playtime, social interaction, and cleaning up any accidents to ensure your cat stays comfortable and clean. With every daily visit, we also provide a thorough text update in our client portal with pictures to let you know how things are going. Our clients love our pics! We can also send videos as well! We constantly communicate with you, so you’re never left to wonder. We also provide basic home care tasks such as mail and package retrieval, alternating blinds/curtains and any lights, and bringing outside trash bins to the curb and back.

Other exceptional cat sitter services that Ailurophile Cat Sitting and Home Care offers in addition to Boulder cat sitting visits
This is an excellent service to offer cats that fear going to the vet. What kind of kitty enjoys doing that? Take away their stress and have Ailurophile come to you! As we know, kitty nails grow fast and it’s a hassle to cart them back and forth to the vet for this task. Get on our monthly schedule to receive in-home nail trims.
Our cat sitter team in Boulder is skilled in administering various medications to meet your cat’s health requirements. Our services include giving insulin injections, oral or transdermal medications, subcutaneous fluids, & inhaler treatments – all handled with expertise and patience to keep your cat relaxed. These services can be performed at a cat sitting visit or exist as a separate service if you are home and just need help with your cat.
Additional fees for these specialized medical services.
Administering medications typically ranges from $5.00 to $10.00 extra per visit / per cat on top of the base visit price.
Subcutaneous fluid administration is typically done for kitties diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), which must be managed at home for long periods. The fluids are administered under guidance from your veterinarian’s recommendations, and we can come to the house to administer these fluids weekly or at any time you need. Performing this service at home saves time and money in the long run over taking your cat to a vet each time it’s needed. We can administer sub-q fluids during a cat sitting visit or come to do this as a separate service by itself.
During certain holidays, Ailurophile Cat Sitting and Home Care does charge extra for its services. We will charge an additional $10 daily for the holidays- MLK, Easter, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day

” I did some extensive research on finding a cat sitting service that would alleviate my anxiety of leaving my two 1-year-old kittens at home for the first time and for a week while I was out of state. Sarah and Rebecca (Becca) have been such a breath of fresh air and took wonderful care of my kitties and home! After the initial visit and cat meet-and-greet, I was sold.
In addition to food, litter, play time, and general mischief-clean-up, they are extremely responsive, sent pictures and updates on their moods and demeanor daily, watered plants, swapped out my growing bushels of cat grass for them, took them out into the yard for some out-door time on their harnesses, and aligned to my preferred visit schedule (i.e. 30 / 60 minutes alternating every other day, morning/afternoon/evening preferences, etc.), and more! I’d give 7 out of 5 stars if I could!
ssly. The updates and pictures make me feel at ease whenever I travel.”
” Sarah and her assistant Amber are AMAZING! I have a cat who needs meds every day and he can be a bit tricky to catch and then administer the medicine to, but Sarah and her team did an OUTSTANDING job and made sure he was taken care of. I haven’t left him for over a year for fear that he would get sick again in my absence, but I was able to have a wonderful 2 week vacation overseas with no stress, knowing that Sarah had it all under control. Not only is she skilled and knowledgeable about the work she does, but she also is so friendly and truly loves cats! I have never felt more comfortable leaving my fur-kids with a sitter before. HIGHLY, highly, highly recommend Sarah and her team. 10 stars! 🙂“
” This review is long overdue. If you are looking for a cat sitter, don’t hesitate to reach out to Ailurophile! I recently moved to Longmont and needed someone to take care of my elderly kitties while we were out of town for a week. One of my kitties is a former feral who needs twice daily eye drops, while my other kitty has IBD and needs oral medication every three days. Both Sarah and Becca were incredibly caring – you can tell that they are true cat lovers who will take care of your babies like their own. Communication was excellent, and they didn’t hesitate to assist when we needed to be out of town one extra day. I’m so thankful that I found Ailurophile!”
